Stuck in the middle with Moo
The song goes clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right but Saturday’s WSR Ox races were uphills to the left of me, downhills to the right although the downhills seemed to be in the first half of the course. Another fab event with several races over two days. Ox 12 saw Monica running an impressive marathon distance, her first, Nancy doing 20 miles, an amazing achievement for her first race since breaking her foot last year, and Joy and Kathy doing 13.5ish miles each followed by a further 10k at the night time Dark Ox to make the 20 mile mark.
The 10k laps were through woodland areas on the Rushmore Estate near Salisbury, with plenty of bluebells, wild garlic and birdsong. There was surprisingly very little mud but there was plenty of love at the “love station” along with doggingberry vodka, cider and a whole buffet of food and we all felt the badger J The bling as always is awesome and the goody bag is full of local produce, biscuits, flapjacks and beer and a squeaky cow for the 12 event. Nightime saw us donning our headtorches at 9.30 for the Dark Ox, another 10k lap. Another great event and a surreal experience. If you haven’t done a WSR event yet, you don’t know what you are missing.
